How much is a kids’ haircut?
3 cities have enough barbershops posting a kids’ price for a fair median so far. In Dallas-Fort Worth, the median kids’ haircut is $30 (25 shops, middle half $25–$33.50). In Houston, the median kids’ haircut is $30 (15 shops, middle half $25–$35). In Phoenix, the median kids’ haircut is $30 (36 shops, middle half $28–$35).
What about hair salons?
Few independent salons post a price list on their own website; many send customers to an online booking page instead. That left too few posted salon prices for a fair city median, so this page covers barbershops only for now.

Pricing haircuts at your own shop?
A city median tells you what customers there are used to seeing, not what your chair time, your skill or your location is worth. A price above the middle half is fine if your cuts earn it; it is a choice, not a mistake.

For agenciesHow these prices are collected
- Independent barbershops only, found on Google Maps around each metro. Chains and franchise brands are left out, and so are barber schools.
- Their own websites. Booking-app prices are not read. Sites that block automated visitors are skipped, never worked around.
- A regular haircut is the shop’s plain “Haircut”, “Regular cut”, “Classic haircut” or “Adult haircut” line, matched by fixed rules, not guessed by AI. Packages, memberships, designs, line-ups, beard trims, senior/military/student prices, “starting at” prices and coupons are excluded. A kids’ haircut is a kids, children’s, boys’, girls’, junior or youth cut line.
- One shop, one price (the lowest regular posted figure). A city appears only with at least 15 shops; no single shop is shown or named.
