What a quiet week looks like
Most weeks, some rival changes something. When none of them changed anything worth your time, you don’t get a padded brief. You get the short note below. It is made by the same code that sends real quiet weeks, here for an invented plumber, Ridgeline Plumbing, on free brief 2 of 4. Every name and the weather alert are invented.
Subject: MIB: Nothing new this week — Ridgeline Plumbing
What is in a quiet-week note
- One line: nothing material changed at the rivals we watched, by name.
- What we checked: how many rival websites, review sets and news searches that run covered.
- Safety items still come through: food and product recalls for your trade, severe weather and local disruptions are never held back on a quiet week. This sample shows one so you can see where it goes; most quiet weeks have none.
- Your own Google listing: if it suddenly shows closed, or your hours, phone or address changed, the warning rides along too.
- During the free weeks: which free brief this was and when the next one comes. The real note also has your own “Wrong competitors? Fix the list” sign-in link (left out here), and on free brief 4 a list of the big things caught since you joined.
What a quiet note leaves out: the action list, suggested review replies and the monthly scorecard. Those come in a full brief, the next time a rival does something worth your time.
