What the free competitor analysis gives you
The free analysis is the same engine the paid brief uses, pointed at your business for one look:
- Your real competitors, named. It finds the businesses near you that compete for the same customers, from your Google listing and theirs. You recognise them; it is not a generic list.
- What each one is doing. Services and prices from their websites, Google rating and review count, hiring, openings and closings nearby, and local news that touches your trade.
- What to do about it. Every finding comes with a suggested move written for your business, such as what to say on your quotes this week or which review complaint at a competitor you can answer on your own profile.
Want to see which of these your competitors are doing right now?
Free · about 2 minutes · nobody is contacted — your competitors never see who asked.
One thing to know up front: the competitor findings in the free analysis are deliberately 60 to 90 days old. It is a sample of what the service finds, not a live feed. The free weekly briefs below use current data.
Then 4 free weekly briefs, with today's data
If you leave your email after the analysis and tap Confirm in the email we send, you get a brief on your business once a week for 4 weeks:
| Free analysis | 4 free weekly briefs | Paid plan | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Free, just your email | From $79.99/mo ($39.99 founder price) |
| Data | A 60–90 day old sample | Current | Current |
| How often | Once | Once a week, 4 times, then it stops | Every morning, or the days you choose |
| Competitors | 3 to 5 nearest, named | The ones from your analysis, named | Up to 10 on Starter, more on higher plans |
| Local map ranking heatmap | No | No | Yes |
| Card needed | No | No | Yes |
Each weekly brief opens with a short list of the competitors we watched for you and whether anything changed, then the findings, each with a suggested move. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. The free briefs take the place of the 7-day trial, so if you choose a plan afterwards it starts that day.
Who the free analysis works for
It is built for businesses that compete locally and have a Google business listing: restaurants and cafés, dentists and med spas, plumbers, roofers and other trades, salons, gyms, shops, clinics and service firms. The free weekly briefs are available for listings in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the EU.
Agencies and consultants can run it on a client. An agency can get the 4 free weekly briefs on up to 3 client businesses; an owner gets them on one business. See the agency version.
What it does not do
- It is not instant. Competitors are checked daily, and the brief arrives the next morning on a plan, or weekly on the free briefs.
- It does not read social media ads. It watches competitors' websites, Google listings and reviews, hiring and local news.
- It does not tell you to cut your price. When a competitor drops a price, the suggested move is about how you answer it, not about matching it.
How to run it
- Go to the free demo and type your business name. Pick it from the Google suggestions so we get the right listing.
- Wait about 2 minutes while it finds your competitors and reads what they publish.
- Read the result. If it is useful, leave your email for the 4 free weekly briefs, then tap Confirm in the email.

Common questions
Is the competitor analysis really free?
Yes. The analysis needs no account and no card. The 4 weekly briefs need only an email address, and they stop on their own after the fourth.
What happens after the 4 free briefs?
They stop. If you want them to continue, every free brief has a link to the plans: Starter is $79.99 a month, or $39.99 at the founder price while it lasts, month to month, with up to 10 competitors and a brief as often as every morning.
Will my competitors know I looked them up?
No. The analysis reads information competitors already publish: their websites, Google listings, reviews, job posts and news. Nobody is contacted.
How many free analyses can I run?
Enough to try a few businesses, for example yours and a second location or a client. The free weekly briefs are one business per email for owners and up to 3 client businesses for agencies.
How is this different from paid competitive intelligence software?
Enterprise tools like Crayon and Klue are quote-only and built for sales teams. If you want the comparison, read Klue vs Crayon vs Kompyte vs MyIntelBrief or what competitive intelligence software actually costs.
